Most of us fail. Horribly. Like fall flat on your face in a crowded room full of acquaintances, your crush, and your boss fail. We think that because we are passionate about something, it means we won’t fail. But that isn’t true. Just because we possess the passion to carry us through something, that simply gives us the drive to do what must be done. Without the tools to hone in this passion, we will fail. Even with the tools, we might yet fail, but the tools will allow us to pick ourselves up again and carry on.
If you didn’t know this about me, I am constantly reading. Fiction, self-growth, non-fiction (and I’m even attempting to write my own novel at the moment)- business, you name it, I’m probably trying to read it. 10 pages a day at the minimum is my go-to when it comes to my daily reading practice. My current book? Russell Brunson’s Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customer.
Something I have always struggled with is driving traffic to my site. I know that if I can get my customers there, I could hook them – I know I have a great voice, story, and talent for travel – but it’s hard to get the views on my site to get the clients I need to be profitable. That’s why I am partaking in the Russell Brunson 30 Day Traffic Secrets Challenge. In his new book, Traffic Secrets, I am learning how to get my dream customers on my site (what I needed) – and how to use evergreen marketing techniques (phew) to apply to new trends to constantly be on top of the game!
Like so many people, it’s not that I don’t have a fantastic service, I just need people to figure out I exist and to get rid of the stigma around travel agents. Tens of thousands of businesses fail every year because the entrepreneurs don’t understand this one essential skill: the art and science of getting consumers to find you. I don’t want to be a part of that statistic, and so I am doing something to change that.
I haven’t completed the challenge yet – I’m only about halfway through – but I am so excited to keep going. I’m currently learning where my dream customers are hiding (woo) and next up is getting them onto my site and into my funnels.
