Helly Hansen’s Women’s Fremont Boot
I love these boots. Like sometimes I wear them not hiking. They are stylish, comfortable, and durable. I have a pair that is this style, slightly different from the newer model, has been my go-to hiking boot since 2017. When they do eventually wear out – which likely won’t be anytime soon, it’ll be a second pair of these I purchase.
Helly Hansen Women’s W The Forester Boot
For something less stylish, this is a great option. The most practical type of hiking boot out there.
Columbia – Vitesse™ Outdry™ Shoe
A great option if you don’t want your hiking shoes to have as much constriction as a typical hiking boot. These shoes are also in my women’s hiking gear essentials kit. Also – if you use prime’s try before you buy, you have the option to send the product back if it doesn’t fit or you don’t like it!
Camelbak Arete 18 Hydration Backpack for Hiking
I have a very similar daypack to this for hikes and it’s the perfect bag to take with you! The water bladder inside is convenient and can be removed for just a normal daypack if you want!
This bag has been around the world with me, literally. And while I may use it as my persona item/carry on most of the time – it often goes with me on hikes too because it allows me to take all of my camera equipment. Honestly, I LOVE this bag. I’m about to upgrade to their full sized luggage as well
This water-resistant square-shaped backpack goes with me on all my adventures, and I highly recommend you look into the investment, especially if you are a photographer!

Britta Water Filtering Water Bottle
A lightweight jacket is top among essential hiking gear for women. Even in the summer, you’ll want to pack a lightweight rain jacket to stay dry in the event the sky decides to stop being your friend. In the fall you may want a more insulated jacket – so I’ve listed options for both!
Packable Rain Jacket from Columbia
I have had this jacket for about 6 years now, and I love it. It folds up super small, is a windbreaker and rain jacket, and the hood folds away if you don’t need it. Honestly, this is the jacket that keeps me (minus my butt) dry in the middle of a Florida thunderstorm and is great to just always have around.
Columbia Women’s Heavenly Long Hooded Jacket
This is a great option for a hiking jacket for the fall!
Depending on the season, you’re going to want some sweat-wicking gear to keep you cool, dry, and let’s face it – free of armpit sweat. Because sister, that ain’t cute. Here are three great options I’ve found on Amazon, all very affordable!
RBX Active Women’s Long Sleeve Super Soft Space Dye Workout Running Tee Shirt
Alo Yoga’s HIGH-WAIST CARGO LEGGING – $138
Alo Yoga’s are the comfiest, with the price point to match. I love these because they have 4 pockets, essential to carry your snacks and phone on your hike!
Lingswallow High Waist Sweat Wicking Pants
These yoga pants from Amazon are a great economical option if you don’t want to splurge on the Alo Yoga pants! they come in a variety of styles and colors, and also have pockets!
