The Best Drink Deals in Florence
Drinking in the city center of Florence can get expensive, and though most people here are on vacation, breaking the bank entirely usually isn’t an option. Need to know the low-down on drink specials? Here is a list of my top 5 places to go for deals in Florence!
Aperitivo at Ganzo, FUA’s Student-Operated Restaurant
Every Wednesday at 6 some of the best aperitivo in town, at the best price, is put on by the students of Florence University of the Arts. Culinary students cook, and the hospitality and management students serve. Entrance is only €5, which includes a cocktail or wine, and drinks after that are only €5 each. The food keeps coming until around 10 or 11, and there are plenty of different options. The bartender is one of the best mixologists I’ve ever had, and the environment is very friendly. Sit inside at a booths, or outside in the patio lounge area. Either way is sure to be a good time.

Free Shots at Lion’s Fountain and Uncle Jimmy’s
For more late night rambunctious activities, head over to The Lion’s Fountain, and if you’re feeling extra rowdy, walk on out to the sister bar, Uncle Jimmy’s Irish Pub. Just show your American Student ID and purchase one of their € 1 Livestrong-style wristbands, and get a free shot with every drink purchase while you’re here. This is great for study abroad students looking to party the night away.

3€ Sangria at Green Street Bar
On Mondays at Green Street Bar on Via Ghibellina, toast to the evening with some delicious €3 sangria! Special deals on the Tequila Sunrise, and tequila shots as well. Not free on a Monday? The sangria is only €4 every other night! Head inside this bar next to Teatro Verdi, and get to know the bartenders who are all amazing people.

The Margaritas at Tijuana
Need to step away from the Italian food for a minute and soak in some Mexican-style atmosphere? The the margaritas at Tijuana are beautiful, glorious, and BIG. Hit a few of these bad boys and feel festive while enjoying happy hour out on the patio.

Michael Collins Pub
In Piazza Santa Maria Nuova is another Irish pub offering specials to students! With a free student card comes 4€ pints of lager, 4.50 selected long drinks and 8€ pitchers of lager or long drinks all day every day. They also have Sunday Funday with 2 for 1 select cocktails! Live music is often on at night, and they are usually showing American football if you need to keep up with sports back at home.
