To craft rugged luxury itineraries for open minded explorers seeking faraway and bespoke experiences
It happens every year, and I don’t know how, but one day it’s Halloween, the next we’re buying everyone chocolates for Valentine’s Day again. If you’re looking to escape the monotony and treat yourself or your special someone to a romantic Valentine’s Day this year, how about making it last longer than a day? A romantic Valentine’s Weekend Getaway is still a possibility. To help you out, below I have listed my top 10 best places for your Valentine’s Weekend Getaway.
St. Lucia is world renown as one of the most romantic destinations for couples. Escape the cold for your Valentine’s Weekend Getaway and head to St. Lucia for warm waters, stunning tropical romance, and an all-inclusive package that will get the drinks flowing and the couple’s massages on order.
From Cap Maison, volcanic mud baths, and kissing under waterfalls, St. Lucia has a little bit of everything for every type of lover.
San Francisco is one of those cities I initially fell in love with, but never seem to be able to get back to. From taking a romantic luxury yacht cruise on the bay to walking the Golden Gate hand in hand, there is something so magical about San Francisco. The California coast is dreamy and mysterious, things seem to happen there. If you’re feeling spunky you can adventure in a seaplane tour over the city or just kick back, enjoy the amazing dining and bar scene and enjoy each other’s company.
Something about bathing in the warm waters of the Caribbean and staying at a lush resort while your skin turns bronze will never go old. Guadeloupe is an romantic destination that offers something for everyone – from pristine beaches like Grand Anse or hiking in the rainforest. The island is known for its French influence – and you will feel like you are in a mini tropical France while visiting this destination.
There are few things more romantic than cuddling up by the fire, sipping a hot chocolate (or whisky – I won’t judge) while snow is falling down outside. One of my FAVORITE romantic getaways is anywhere in Colorado, but the best has got to be telluride. A secluded mountain town in the San Juan Mountains, Telluride is posh, quaint, romantic, and has everything you could want from a Colorado cowboy town. With a mostly green city – you access the town/mountain village via the complimentary gondola – Telluride has tons of activities for everyone – whether you ski or not.
February brings us dog sledding, sleigh rides in an open horse carriage, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and of course, drinking around the fire. Or, for a super romantic time, bundle up, pack the swimmies, and head out to some of the nearby hot springs the area has to offer!
It’s undeniable, the South has a charm all of its own, and Savannah, GA is no exception to that rule. Savannah has some of the best restaurants, hotels, and nightlife in the south, and if you’re a social couple, this is the place to be. From fantastic river cruises, to exotic tapas bars, there is something to do in the evening for everyone. Drag shows, piano bars, you name it – Savannah is vibrant with plenty of southern charm to go around and I cannot get enough of it.
While you’re in Savannah, don’t forget to learn about the history of the city and the area by visiting Wormsloe Plantation, Owens -Thomas House and Slavequarters, and the Juliet Gordon Low birthplace.
You don’t need a passport, but you can also escape the 50 states – it’s the perfect combination. Just a short flight from the south, Puerto Rico makes for an amazing Valentine’s Weekend Getaway. If you’re a surfer, avid beach lover, or just need some tropics and good vibes in your life, the Pura Vida nation is where you need to go.
Puerto Rico is a very affordable weekend trip that makes it feel like you are escaping America, but you don’t need a passport to do it.
I know it seems crazy – but maybe make your long weekend a week-long and treat yourself and your partner to the most romantic getaway of them all in the City of Love. There is a reason why Paris is for lovers. There isn’t quite anything like seeing the twinkling lights of the Eiffel tower, or sipping coffee and eating croissants. Cute little alcoves, romantic music, and escargot await you in Paris, along with the trip of a lifetime. It might be a stretch, but Paris is the most romantic city in the world for a reason, it makes you fall in love all over again.
Take the snow up a notch and head up to Bozeman, Montana for an exciting and romantic getaway in the western wilderness of the US. Visit Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and also get in your fill of skiing and other exciting winter activities! Bozeman is a culturally rich scene, with lots of restaurants, bars, and live music – all just a step out from the wild west.
If you are seeking tropical, but want to stay domestic, Hawaii is another fantastic option for lovers on a Valentine’s Weekend Getaway. Hawaii is perfect for the adventure lover, and like St. Lucia, is volcanic and tropical in nature. From amazing snorkeling to stunning scenic hikes in the national park, to hanging out on some of the most famous beaches in the world – Hawaii is for adventurers and lovers.
Attend a luau, take a sunset sail and sip champagne, or even a helicopter tour will make this Valentine’s Weekend Getaway one to remember.
Tuck yourself up in a cozy cabin and hideaway for your romantic Valentine’s Weekend Getaway. Just you, your lover and nature. Explore scenic byway drives, tiny mountain tows with quaint pubs, and completely disconnect from modern society. Log cabins will be sure to make you fall in love all over again.
Often known as the Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains, Pigeon Forge is a great place to get out and be in civilization, but just a step away from nature. Pigeon Forge offers great views of the Smoky Mountains, perfect for couples looking for a romantic escape. There are plenty of cabin options in town and just out of town to choose from. Hit up a winery or two, take a drive in the national park, visit Dollywood, or just hang out and enjoy the mountains and the company.
